| Arriving from Mudgee via Wellington along the Mitchell Highway Route
32 On arriving in the City you will pass over a crest and begin a sweeping right turn on a divided road. Turn left at the first set of traffic lights and proceed down this road (Prince Street) to the T junction. Turn left here into Peisley Street. At the roundabout turn right into Dalton Street. Continue along this road over the railway crossing, the next 2 roundabouts, up and over a hill until a T junction with Ophir Road on the flat. Turn left here and continue for 3km or so. Here you will see a sign indicating a right hand turn to 'Ophir 21 via Lower Lewis Ponds' Take this turn to the right. Continue along this road (Banjo Paterson Way) for a distance of 3.5km. Slow down, continue on a short distance and take the next turn to the right - into Strathnook Lane - which occurs on a slight crest in the road. From here lookout for Kangaroos!!! Continue slowly to the very end of this road (2.2km) going over the crest of a hill & steeply downwards to a T Junction. Follow the bitumen turning first left at the T Junction and then immediately right through the first entry on the right. If the sliding gate is closed stop and press the red call button on the intercom console Proceed when the gate is fully opened*. Continue to drive slowly (obey speed limit signs & watch out for wildlife) for 400m and you are at Cloudgap. Park in front of the main entrance..
